Workers with R.J. Masonry of Oxford on Tuesday brick the exterior of the new visitation room on the campus of Tallahatchie General Hospital and Extended Care Facility in Charleston.
The stand-alone structure, which is located on the north side of the hospital and nursing home where a gazebo had stood, is being built to provide a safe environment for nursing home residents to receive visitors.
Residents and visitors will sit on opposite sides of the large room, with a wall featuring a plexiglass partition separating them.
Special filtration and ventilation systems will help to keep residents protected from bacteria and viruses, such as COVID-19.
