ROSEBLOOM — The annual Rosebloom Recreational Park Independence Day celebration set for this Saturday, July 5, will help to commemorate the nation’s 249th birthday.
The free event, made possible by the generosity of dozens of area sponsors, promises activities and entertainment in a family-friendly environment.
Ushering in the day’s festivities, an inflatable water slide will be open from 4-6 p.m., along with vendor booths and concessions.
The official program will get underway at 6 with a prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of the national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Veterans of the U.S. armed forces who are present will be recognized for their service.
Entertainment will feature live music performed by the Christian group, The Griffith Family, from Nashville. The troupe, including husband Tony, wife Julie and their two children, Caleb and Jaidyn, offers “a rich vocal sound that is Southern, progressive and all their own,” according to the website, griffithfamilymusic.com.
The grand finale, at about 9, will be one of the largest fireworks shows in the area.
The public is invited to “come out and enjoy a night of patriotism and family- friendly fun,” said a park spokesperson.
