Charleston First Methodist Church will host traditional Holy Week services from Monday, April 14, through Friday, April 18, beginning at noon each day.
The schedule of daily speakers for the local Holy Week services is as follows:
» Monday, April 14: Rev. Ray Branch, pastor of Charleston First Methodist Church
» Tuesday, April 15: Rev. Joe May, pastor of Charleston First Baptist Church
» Wednesday, April 16: Rev. Grant Gilliam, pastor of Charleston First Presbyterian Church
» Thursday, April 17: Rev. Charles Duncan, pastor of Charleston Church of God
» Friday, April 18: Rev. Phillip Pharr, pastor of Adams Arbor Church of God of Prophecy
Each daily service will be followed by a lunch prepared and served in the fellowship hall by representatives of the speaker’s church.
The cost of each Holy Week meal is $3 per plate, with all proceeds from purchases going to benefit the Charleston community’s Good Samaritan Fund.
Organizers say that everyone is invited to attend these special local services, which are held each year in observance of the week between Palm Sunday and Easter.
