Kareem Vance was honored recently when he was voted Best Personal Trainer in DeSoto County by readers of the DeSoto Times-Tribune newspaper.
The Tippo native operates from his gym and physical fitness center, Kareem Vance Fitness, in Olive Branch.
“I’m incredibly honored to have received the Best Personal Trainer award from DeSoto’s Best,” Vance noted on Facebook. “Thank you to everyone who voted, supported, and believed in me — it truly means the world.”
A certified professional trainer with seven certificates — most from the National Academy of Sports Medicine — Vance works with athletes to develop an individualized workout program to help elevate their skills and, therefore, their performance potential.
With over 24 years of experience in elite athletic development and personal training, Vance has trained over 18 state championship teams across multiple sports in DeSoto County: softball, football, basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball.
“My expertise extends beyond high school athletics, as I have also trained multiple professional athletes, guiding them from their early development stages to their careers at the highest levels,” he said.
Vance said his training philosophy focuses on building “a strong foundation in strength, speed, agility and injury prevention, tailored to each athlete’s specific needs.”
Vance is a former Charleston High School Tigers football standout who went on to capture defensive accolades in the sport at Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia and Delta State University in Cleveland before playing in the National Indoor Football League and Canadian Football League.
