Warm and pleasant greetings to all.
We hope you are enjoying a good week. We are happy to bring the good news of spring’s arrival.
Spring is the favorite season for many residents who seek the love of nature, admiring its beauty and getting the feel of earth.
Talking with my neighbor Vera, across the way, I asked about her mother. She’s doing well, outside scratching for her comeback flowers. Ms. Gary keeps beautiful flowers every year, beginning with spring.
My other neighbor, Mary, asked me about the canna bed in our yard she started a couple years ago. I was happy to say yes, it’s sprouting through. Since she’s the pro, I can certainly keep watch. I think that’s all she wants me to do. She passes by often and notices all yards. Minister Davis is one flower lover and keeps their yards beautiful year-round.
Spring gets me excited with my mint bed. I am also anticipating planting zinnias for a little ground color.

Last Tuesday, being the Primary Election day, gave reason for our community’s “busyness” with voters coming into the Blue Cane- Little Hubbard Community Center voting precinct. It’s always good to greet others and see more of our neighbors. Voting is important and it’s one’s privilege. Your elected official speaks for you anyway as a constituent, so this gives you the opportunity to participate in the election process.

President Selvelda Taylor began the meetings with welcome and devotion, followed with prayer. The secretary/treasurer report was given and accepted. TCRTA will again this year offer scholarships to two graduating seniors, one at both county high schools, Charleston High School and West Tallahatchie High School. March 24 is Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter and the last Sunday of Lent, which began on Ash Wednesday.
Palm Sunday marks the day when Christ rode into Jerusalem a week before his death and resurrection and was greeted by its people, who strew cloaks and tree (palm) branches along the path to honor as their King.

Our sincere condolences to families experiencing bereavement at this time, especially to a neighbor, Ms. Marilyn McIntyre and family, in the loss of her son. Lest we forget those who may be seeking comfort while facing difficult challenges and decisions.
May God’s peace surround us all.
