A Charleston-based youth baseball team, the JSU Tigers, recently won the Grand Slam Baseball Tournament in Tupelo.
Head coach Cedric Terry said the squad played five games, losing the first 7-9 to Mathiston, but then sweeping four other opponents.
They won 13-0 over a team from Winona, 12-0 over a unit from Starkville, 9-5 over a squad from Tupelo and, in the championship game, 6-5 over a team from Alabama.
Terry said the JSU Tigers are the 11-year-old travel team of the Robert Hill Youth Foundation.
