Building a Stronger Culture of Care
What helps a community feel healthier, stronger, and more connected?
The Charleston Thrives Health & Well-Being Working Group continues exploring that question through expanding wellness outreach, partnerships, and community-centered support systems across Charleston.
Health fairs, wellness events and outreach efforts are helping connect residents directly to screenings, providers, resources and support services.
At the same time, schools, churches, neighborhoods and trusted community spaces are becoming stronger points of connection for wellness information and engagement.
The group is also exploring wellness-centered activities like the “Mid-Day Movement” initiative focused on encouraging participation, movement, and healthier lifestyles for residents of all ages.
What continues standing out most is the role relationships play in community wellness.
Trust matters.
Connection matters.
People are more likely to participate when information and support feel visible, approachable, and connected to the community around them.
Hospitals, wellness providers, schools, faith communities, and local partners continue strengthening those connections together.
If you see progress happening across Charleston, we hope you will share it with me and with each other.
