The Ed & Becky Meek Foundation has awarded five scholarships to students from the East Tallahatchie School District who will be attending Northwest Mississippi Community College this fall.
The scholarships are in honor of longtime NWCC board member Ike Sayle and Sayle Oil Co., honored as Outstanding Organization of the Year at Northwest during the annual Northwest Soiree this past spring.
The Charleston recipients of those scholarships are Samariya Cauthern, Waylen Clinton, Akhyria Scott, Asia Scott and Keshanna Taylor.
“We are grateful for the generosity of The Ed and Becky Meek Foundation and the support they give Northwest students. Their genuine interest in helping students succeed was evident in their interaction while visiting with the scholarship recipients,” said Patti Gordon, executive director of Institutional Advancement at Northwest. “They are also devoted to the Charleston community, and giving honor to Ike Sayle and Sayle Oil is just one example of many.”
