A few more incumbents have signed up to seek reelection to municipal office in Tallahatchie County.
The qualifying window for mayor and Board of Aldermen seats in Charleston, Glendora, Sumner, Tutwiler and Webb closes at 5 p.m. this Friday, Jan. 31.
Qualifying between Jan. 15 and Jan. 21, according to municipal clerks, were the following:
Sumner
» (Jack) Graham Flautt III, 52, of 138 Homestead Lane, for reelection as at-large alderman
» Charles H. Robinette III, 43, of 290 S. Jennings St., for reelection as at-large alderman
Tutwiler
» James E. Farmer, 60, of 786 Central St., for reelection as Ward 3 alderman
» Diane Pimpton, 61, of 311 Second St., for reelection as Ward 4 alderman
Charleston, Glendora and Webb reported no qualifiers between Jan. 15 and Jan. 21.
Anyone interested in seeking local municipal office must file qualifying papers at their respective municipal clerk’s office.
The general election will be held on June 3, and winners will begin a four-year term on July 1.
