A crew from Big Woods Production Services arrived on North Court Square in Sumner Friday morning, Feb. 12, to begin preparations for upcoming filming of scenes for the ABC-TV miniseries, "Women of the Movement," about Mamie Till-Mobley.
The Tallahatchie County Courthouse (right), where the 1955 trial of two men accused of killing Mamie's son, 14-year-old Emmett Till, was held, will be a primary setting.
The historic courthouse, a Mississippi Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will be closed to the public from Feb. 12 through March 12 to facilitate filming.
