I’m wondering if the people of Tallahatchie County know we don’t have a fire marshal.
Recently, a fire would have killed my brother-in-law if Johnnie Taylor had not called him. The large fire almost took his house and my niece’s house.

Cemetery fire spread by wind

The Charleston Fire Department was dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. to a fire that had jumped a gravel road on the east side of Charleston Cemetery and was threatening several residences not far from Charleston Middle School.
