The China Cabinet/Just Lunch closes doors in Charleston

A Charleston shopping and dining tradition came to an end Tuesday as The China Cabinet Flowers and Gifts, and Just Lunch, closed after decades on West Main Street.
Throughout the day, well-wishers stopped by to greet the staff of three and to enjoy one final noontime meal at the casual soup, salad and sandwich shop.

Cascilla Water Association updates public on service outage

UPDATE: Feb. 23.
After a service outage of about eight days, the Cascilla Water Association posted the following message on its Facebook page at about 10:27 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23.
"The water is flowing again! Thank you Ratliff Well Service!

Two sought in rural store armed heist

Officials continue to chase leads after two men robbed a country store north of Charleston last week.
Tallahatchie County Sheriff William Brewer said they walked into Sherman Creek Grocery on Peters Hill Road — one through the front door and the other using a side entrance — shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14.
