Charleston teens Darion LaJames Dogan, 16, and Jonathan Deundra Taylor, 15, charged with felony murder in the Thursday death of Panola County Constable Eula Ray "Raye" Hawkins, are being held at the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center in Hernando.
The pair, initially housed at the Panola County Jail in Batesville after being taken into custody Thursday afternoon, were moved to the DeSoto County facility Thursday night.
They are charged with stealing a pickup truck in Charleston and crashing into Hawkins' car as Panola County lawmen were staged to intercept the stolen vehicle near the intersection of Mississippi highways 35 and 6 in Batesville.
Hawkins, of Courtland, who had served in law enforcement since 1990, died instantly.
