Two federal housing preservation grants totaling over $155,000 have been awarded for the repair and rehabilitation of 14 single-family homes in Tallahatchie County.
Second District U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) announced the awards from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development agency on Thursday.
The awards include:
» $87,784.86 to In Her Shoes Inc., for the repair and rehabilitation of approximately 10 low- and very low-income single-family homes in Tallahatchie County
» $67,284.86 to the city of Charleston, for the repair and rehabilitation of approximately 4 low- and very low-income single-family homes for rural homeowners in Tallahatchie County
