A Tallahatchie County grand jury for the First Judicial District at Charleston recently returned indictments in a number of criminal cases, according to records on file last week in the circuit clerk’s office.
Among those for whom true bills were returned were:
• Timothy J. Scott, 33, of 85 County Road 12, Tillatoba, was indicted for felony fleeing and possession of methamphetamine, at least .10 of a gram but less than 2 grams, in connection with a Jan. 7 incident.
• Rico Burroughs, 30, and Timothy Harris, 50, for whom addresses were unavailable, were named in separate two-count indictments in the same case.
Both Burroughs and Harris were indicted for conspiracy and uttering forgery, in the amount of $1,000 to $5,000, in connection with 11 checks that were passed to two local businesses between May 9 and May 26.
According to court records, the 11 checks totaled $1,520.
A third person also was indicted in the case, but his name had not been made public as of last week because he had not been served with a notice of indictment.
Other indictments will be revealed as made public by the circuit clerk’s office.
