SUMNER — A Coahoma County man was killed Friday night when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 49 East.
Sgt. Marvin Baird, public affairs officer for the Mississippi Highway Patrol's Troop E, identified the deceased as James L. Davis, 51, of Clarksdale.
Baird said the incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. Dec. 6 when a 2004 Ford F-150 driven by James E. Wright, 56, of Webb, was attempting to cross the highway in the area of Gray Street.
The trooper said the pickup collided with the southbound 2016 Harley Davidson driven by Mr. Davis, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Baird added that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
