Justin M. Booth, who had been the lone Republican qualifier among all candidates vying for in-county office in this year’s elections in Tallahatchie County, recently withdrew from contention.
Tallahatchie County Circuit Clerk Daphane Neal confirmed July 12 that Booth, 31, of 803 Cascilla Road, Cascilla, pulled out of the race for District 3 supervisor in late June.
In a brief handwritten message delivered to the circuit clerk’s office on notebook paper, Booth wrote, “I Justin Booth want to withdraw from supervisor race of District 3 of Tallahatchie County effective 6-21-19.”
Booth’s exodus leaves four candidates in the running for District 3 supervisor, all of them Democrats.
Incumbent Larry Cole of Cascilla faces opposition from challengers Roger Allbritton of near Charleston, Pate Brown III of Cascilla and Philip Ross of Scobey.
