The Tallahatchie County Republican Party will conduct their precinct caucuses and county convention on Saturday, April 23, party chairman Robert Bailey of Sumner announced Monday.
At 10 a.m. on that date, county Republicans are encouraged to report to their local precinct polling place for the caucus and selection of delegates to the county convention later in the day.
“Go to your precinct, and if there is no one present, there will be an envelope posted with all of the instructions,” Bailey explained.
The Republican County Convention will get underway at 3 p.m. at the Tallahatchie County Courthouse in Sumner, where the county’s two delegates to next month’s Republican State Convention as well as local party officers for the next four years will be elected.
The party’s local convention alternates between the county-seat courthouses of Charleston and Sumner every four years, Bailey noted.
