The work is part of an ongoing townwide water system improvement project that includes installation of new water pipes and fire hydrants, among other upgrades, Sumner Town Clerk Toni Clark said Tuesday.
Brocato Construction Co. of Batesville has the $861,876.75 contract for the project, Clark noted. She said the work is being funded through a Delta Regional Authority grant of some $450,000 and a low-interest loan to the town from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Loan Program, administered by the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Bureau of Public Water Supply.
