Bryan Roberson, 60, of Charleston, withdrew Monday as an independent candidate for District 2 supervisor in Tallahatchie County.
In a short handwritten note filed with the circuit clerk’s office in Charleston, Roberson said he was dropping out due to his work schedule.
His exodus leaves only independent candidate Leon Smith, 67, of Charleston, to challenge Democratic nominee, incumbent District 2 Supervisor Johnny Goodwin, 61, also of Charleston, in the Nov. 5 general election.
Goodwin, who is president of the Tallahatchie County Board of Supervisors, is seeking a sixth four-year term.
