WEBB — West Tallahatchie High School on Monday announced the naming of a new salutatorian for the Class of 2019.
The salutatorian, Corleshia Young, is the daughter of Chameleon Davis.
At West Tally, Young participated in the Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Jobs for Mississippi Graduates.
Young was an honor graduate and will attend Coahoma Community College on a full-tuition scholarship, according to an email from school district representative LaTrenda Bounds.
Last month, Trinidy Hazzard was originally named the salutatorian at West Tally, and she participated in May 18 graduation ceremonies at the school in that capacity.
Bounds’ email explained that, “A calculating error resulted in senior students’ grade point averages being incorrectly reported.”
