Because of COVID-19, out-of-state volunteers who normally help West Tallahatchie Habitat for Humanity build homes for local residents in need were unable to make the trip this year.
In the past, volunteers have hailed from numerous areas, including La Canada, California, where a church group has made an annual pilgrimage to Tutwiler for many years. But not 2020.
The local Habitat affiliate is asking for local volunteers to step up and fill the gap. Any individual, group or organization that might be interested in helping the cause is asked to call 662-345-6200 or email wthabitat@yahoo.com.
