Lance Dahl Tennyson, 34, of 1955 Adams Road, Oakland, has filed qualifying papers as an independent candidate in a Nov. 5 special election for Tallahatchie County prosecuting attorney.
Tennyson submitted a Qualifying Statement of Intent and a petition of required signatures to the circuit clerk’s office in Charleston on Aug. 21.
The Tallahatchie County Board of Supervisors on Aug. 5 appointed Tennyson to serve as interim prosecuting attorney pending the election.
Supervisors had declared the prosecutor’s office vacant after incumbent Carol Turner Felty, 48, placed her license to practice law on inactive status with The Mississippi Bar.
