Public dove-hunting opportunities available on private lands

JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) offers public dove-hunting opportunities on leased private lands throughout the state.

The Private Lands Dove Field Program began in 2004 in an effort to provide additional public dove hunting opportunities.

Libraries offering chance for two lucky children to win $100

The Tallahatchie County Libraries are sponsoring a summer reading program this month, inviting children to “Read a Book and Write a Paragraph” for a chance to win $100.

The program, according to Libraries Director Vicki Wood, is open to children ages 8-12 years who live in Tallahatchie County.
