Birdia Keglar Legacy reveals process for 2023 scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded by the Birdia Keglar Legacy to a female student who resides in Tallahatchie County and will graduate from Charleston High School or West Tallahatchie High School in May 2023 or a female student currently enrolled in a post high school institution and can provide proof of enrollment.

Medicaid enrollees lose coverage, gain access to marketplace plans

JACKSON — Millions of people in the United States will lose Medicaid coverage because they no longer qualify based on income. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act prevented state Medicaid agencies from disenrolling people during the pandemic. States start cutting people from Medicaid plans on March 31, 2023.

First South to distribute $21 million

First South Farm Credit announced Tuesday that it will distribute $21 million in patronage refund checks to its member/borrowers in April.
