CALHOUN CITY — Maybe it was the off week that was put on the schedule by the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools after the original schedule was changed.

Maybe it was the field that was narrowed by 15 yards by the host team, which eliminated the speed advantage around the ends.

Charleston tops Senatobia in war of attrition

SENATOBIA — The Charleston High Tigers defeated the Senatobia Warriors 15-7 in a low-scoring defensive affair here Friday night.

Charleston improved to 3-1 while Senatobia fell to 3-1.

The 15 points were the fewest scored by a Tigers team in a winning effort since Aug. 21, 2009, when Charleston won 12-6 at Horn Lake.
