West Tally falls at Palmer

MARKS — The West Tallahatchie High School Choctaws dropped a 32-22 decision to M.S. Palmer’s Dragons here Friday night.

They also lost speedy sophomore running back and special teams return man Martavius Dill, who suffered a hairline fracture to an ankle in the third quarter and is expected to miss about six weeks.

CHS Tigers dominate home opener

The Charleston High School Tigers dominated the Leflore County Tigers for a 57-12 win during the home opener Friday night in Charleston.

“Our guys played well,” said CHS head coach Scott Martin. “Any time you play well for your home opener and win, it’s a big deal for our guys and also our fans.”

CHS commits too many errors in loss at Olive Branch

Both the Tigers (ranked third statewide in Class 3A) and the 6A Olive Branch High School Conquistadors now stand at 1-1 on the year.
