Leflore County nips Charleston on late score

The Leflore County Tigers edged the Charleston Tigers 24-22 on a touchdown and two-point conversion scored with just over 2 minutes left in the Class 2A North State championship game Friday night.

Charleston to host north half championship Nov. 26

BALDWYN — The Charleston High School Tigers will be playing at home for the Class 2A North State championship on Nov. 26 after whipping the Baldwyn Bearcats 28-10 here tonight.

On the night after Thanksgiving, it will be a battle of the Tigers as 9-3 Charleston plays host to 9-3 Leflore County of Itta Bena.

Tigers ready to rumble at Baldwyn

In a battle of big cats, the Charleston High School Tigers out-clawed the J.Z. George High School Jaguars 56-12 in a second-round playoff at CHS Friday night, Nov. 12.
Next up for the 8-3 Tigers is a Friday road trip to northeast Mississippi to face the 10-2 Baldwyn High School Bearcats. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
