Sumner District 5 voters casting ballots in the Tuesday, Nov. 4, general election must vote at the former National Guard armory on Highway 49 East in Webb.
Tallahatchie County Circuit Clerk Daphane Neal said a ceiling caved in at the West Tallahatchie School District central office, where the precinct normally votes, and the Tallahatchie County Board of Supervisors designated the former armory as a temporary voting place.
Repairs are underway at the central office but will not be completed by Election Day, Neal explained.
The former National Guard armory now houses trucks and equipment for the Webb Fire Department and hosts other functions.
