SUMNER — Retiring Town Clerk Toni T. Clark was honored recently with a plaque and resolution from elected town officials.
The plaque, dated Dec. 2, praises her “24 years of outstanding service and commitment as town clerk” and her “wisdom, integrity and professionalism.”
The resolution reads:
“Whereas, Toni T. Clark will retire on December 31, 2025, after twenty-four years of outstanding and dedicated service to the Town of Sumner and its citizens.
“Whereas, the Town of Sumner has benefited greatly from the dedication that she put into her role as Town Clerk.
“Whereas, Toni T. Clark has worked alongside many employees over the years, as well as four mayors including James Bryant, Jack Webb III, Smith Murphey IV and Jackson Webb IV.
“Whereas, she has served the citizens of our community with great care, graciousness, and respect; always with a smile on her face and ready to have a good conversation with anyone she met.
“Whereas, in recognition of her diligent work and demonstrated ability, therefore, let it be
“Resolved, that we, the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Sumner, Mississippi, do hereby extend to Toni T. Clark our sincere thanks for the time and effort she put in to making the Town of Sumner the wonderful place that it is. We congratulate you on your well-earned retirement. We know it will be pleasant for you, just as you have always been pleasant to us.
“Resolved, that the original of this Resolution be presented to Toni T. Clark.
“Resolved, that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Sumner, Mississippi.
