Calvary Food Pantry to distribute
Calvary Food Chapel, at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, will distribute food 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own pantry). Food pantry distribution day is now the next-to-last Saturday of each month.

Mt. Pisgah announces revival services
Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church will have revival Sunday, July 20, through Wednesday, July 23. Sunday services begin at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., while weeknight services start at 7. Preaching will be by Rev. Ben Kennedy and music will be led by Dave Tribble. All are invited.
Truevine honors second year of Baker

Children to make cards for ECF
Who doesn’t love to get a “thinking of you” card. On Wednesday, July 23, from 10-11 a.m., children ages 5 and up will make cards using stamps, stickers, markers and lots of other creative items at the Charleston Arts Center (CARE building). Cards will be given to residents of the Tallahatchie General Hospital Extended Care Facility. Due to limited seating, call CARE to register: 662-647-0942. Adult volunteers are also needed for this class.
Frierson Chapel sets summer revival
Frierson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, at 5463 Jenkins Road, Brazil, will have their summer revival from Wednesday, July 23, until Friday, July 25, beginning at 7 nightly. The speaker for Wednesday evening will be Rev. Michael Baker, pastor of True Vine M.B. Church in Brazil. The speaker for Thursday and Friday will be Rev. Henry Knox, pastor of St. Peter M.B. Church in Pace.

Spaghetti on menu for fundraiser
First Baptist Church of Charleston will conduct a Rotel chicken spaghetti fundraiser for the benefit of Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child Sunday, July 27, from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Each $15 plate will include Rotel chicken spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and tea.

Massey Grove revival announced
Massey Grove church of Oakland, where Tyrone Edwards is pastor, will conduct three nights of revival from Sunday, July 27, through Tuesday, July 29.
On Sunday, the service will begin at 6 p.m. and the speaker will be pastor Gregory Henderson of Roseville, Tennessee.
Monday and Tuesday night services will start at 7. Rev. Tommy Rucker of Hollywood will speak on July 28, while Rev. Darryl Booker of Charleston will speak July 29.

Cincinnati chapter donates funds
In a July 3 story submitted to The Sun-Sentinel, Lavern Harper was credited with making a donation to the Tallahatchie County Back to School Expo. Ms. Harper actually made the donation on behalf of the Cincinnati, Ohio, chapter of the National Charleston Day Organization, of which she is president.

GriefShare offers grief support
GriefShare, a grief recovery support group, is conducting regular meetings each Thursday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., through Aug. 28.
Weekly sessions are being held at Friendship East Baptist Church, located at 3722 Friendship East Road, Charleston.
GriefShare is a video series that features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. The video seminars are combined with a small group discussion of the materials presented during the video.
The 13-week sessions include topics such as “Is This Normal?”, “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?”, “Guilt and Anger,” and more.
