St. John plans women’s fellowship
St. John Missionary Baptist Church Daughters of Destiny Women’s Fellowship invites all women to their meeting Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m., in the church fellowship hall.
The meeting will be focused on safe food handling. Ms. Shannon Jackson, food services director for the East Tallahatchie School District, will discuss proper food preparation, transportation, sanitation and cooking attire.

St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located in Tallahatchie County at 1100 Highway 32 W., Drew, will host family and friends day on Sunday, Aug. 10, starting at 2:30 p.m. Suggested colors are purple and silver.
Guest speaker will be the Rev. Charles Jones, pastor of Powerhouse Deliverance Temple in Hollandale.

Jerusalem sets three nights of revival
Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church will host revival services from Monday, Aug. 11, through Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 7 nightly. The speaker will be Rev. J.H. Brown of St. Luke and Holly Grove churches.
Saturday August 16
Cossar park hosts motorcycle show
George Payne Cossar State Park will host a motorcycle show on Saturday, Aug. 16, beginning at 11 a.m.
Entries are invited, and first-, second- and third-place trophies will be awarded. There is a $25 entry fee for motorcycle clubs and a $5 entry fee for a single motorcycle.
Vendors will be on site, as well. There is a $50 fee for vendors to rent a space.
There will be a live DJ, bouncy houses and other activities, including raffles.
A $2 per person park entry fee will be collected at the front gate.
The park is located at 165 County Road 170, Oakland, MS 38948.

Calvary Food Pantry to distribute
Calvary Food Chapel, at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, will distribute food 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own pantry). Food pantry distribution day is now the next-to-last Saturday of each month.

GriefShare offers grief support
GriefShare, a grief recovery support group, is conducting regular meetings each Thursday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., through Aug. 28.
Weekly sessions are being held at Friendship East Baptist Church, located at 3722 Friendship East Road, Charleston.
GriefShare is a video series that features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on grief and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. The video seminars are combined with a small group discussion of the materials presented during the video.
The 13-week sessions include topics such as “Is This Normal?”, “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?”, “Guilt and Anger,” and more.
