Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church will wrap up three nights of summer revival with remaining services Thursday, Aug. 21, and Friday, Aug. 22. Services start at 7 p.m.

Calvary Food Pantry to distribute
Calvary Food Chapel, at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, will distribute food 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own pantry). Food pantry distribution day is now the next-to-last Saturday of each month.
Faith Food Pantry to distribute
Faith Food Pantry, located at 30028 Highway 32, Charleston, will distribute food from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23. Food pantry distribution day is now the next-to-last Saturday of each month.

New Town Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston will celebrate its annual homecoming program Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m.

Career fair planned in Charleston
The Tallahatchie County Action Group will conduct a community career fair on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. until noon, at the James C. Kennedy Wellness Center, located at 173 Honeysuckle Dr. in Charleston.
Vendors and workforce development agencies will be represented, and local job applications will be available. Support will be offered for resume building, application completion, mock interviews, direct connections opportunities and more. Refreshments will be provided.

An adult jewelry art class will be held at CARE on Friday, Aug. 29, at 5:30 p.m.

Blackmon headstone dedication set
A ceremony to dedicate a headstone at the grave of longtime educator Mrs. Parthenia Dunbar Blackmon will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m., at the New Town Cemetery on Oak Grove Road near Charleston. The National Charleston Day Organization is in charge, and any interested members of the public are invited to attend.

Morning Star homecoming on tap
Morning Star Church of God in Christ of Tutwiler will conduct the annual homecoming program on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m.
