Rollins UMC fall revival comes to end
Rollins United Methodist Church, located at 502 Second St. in Tutwiler, will have the final service of their annual fall revival Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.. The theme is “Revival for Survival. Physically challenged fishing day set
On Saturday, Sept. 12, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and area volunteers will host the 33rd annual fishing event for the physically challenged at the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery at Enid Lake. Free registration of participants begins at 8 a.m., and fishing will take place until noon, when a complimentary fish fry lunch will be provided. Friendship East plans fundraiser
Friendship East Baptist Church will have a building fund fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be a pancake breakfast, door prizes, silent auction, gospel singing, corn hole tournament, bake sale, poker run and so much more.
Christmas Child workshop on tap
A local Operation Christmas Child project leader workshop will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at First Baptist Church in Charleston from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Anyone who would like to learn more about the Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry, which sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world together with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is invited to attend.
There will be new information about the ministry, along with shopping and craft ideas. Learn more about the journey of a shoebox and some tips about packing. There will be refreshments, door prizes and free shoeboxes to anyone who brings someone with them from their church or their pastor.
Since 1993, more than 244 million children in more than 175 countries and territories have received a Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoebox.

Calvary Food Pantry to distribute
Calvary Food Pantry, at 36 Ward-Riddick Road, just east of Parchman off Highway 32, will distribute food from 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, for those living in the West Tallahatchie area and in Sunflower County outside the city limits of Drew (which has its own food pantry). Food pantry distribution is on the next-to-last Saturday of each month.
