The Birdia Keglar Legacy (BKL) recently presented a check for $200 to the Charleston Middle School Student Council in support of its efforts. As a tribute to Mrs. Keglar’s work and purpose, BKL believes leadership abilities are recognized as early as middle school and should be fostered by involvement from individuals and organizations committed to the process of developing leaders in school and community, and role models for peer groups. On hand to accept the contribution, presented by BKL committee member Gwen Dailey, right, were, from left, Ja’Mal Brock, CMS principal; Demetrius Biggins, CMS Student Council member; Alilliana Kuykendall, CMS Student Council president; and Leah Hanks, CMS Student Council advisor.
