Till National Monument has successful grand opening for visitor center

SUMNER — The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley National Monument held the grand opening for its visitor center here last Friday.
July 25 marked what would have been Emmett Till’s 84th birthday and the two-year anniversary of the monument’s designation.

Emmett Till Interpretive Center receives grant for programming

SUMNER — The Emmett Till Interpretive Center (ETIC) here was awarded a $10,000 public programming grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council.
ETIC’s proposal was one of 10 proposals funded, totaling $84,000 in grant funds awarded. The grant will be used to fund ETIC’s programming of speaking engagements across the state in 2025.
