Unemployment in Tallahatchie County fell in September to 6.1 percent, the lowest rate for the month in nearly a decade, according to the Mississippi Department of Employment Security.
Down two-tenths of 1 percent from the revised August rate of 5.9, September’s figure is the best locally for the month since the 5.7 of 2006.
