Somehow, I let this past Saturday slip up on me without thinking anything of it — until sometime Thursday, two days prior.
That is a travesty, especially considering the significance of the date: Aug. 1.
It was on that very date, and a Saturday to boot, that my life was forever altered for the better back in 1987.
