Our little storm Sunday afternoon and night wasn’t as bad as the weatherman predicted for us but we did get plenty of rain and thunder. And best of all, we had snow in Tillatoba Monday morning! Samy McCracken informed me that old folks shouldn’t play in the snow. I wonder why he said that. I told him I’d let him know when I got there!
Debbie McCool said she got all their Christmas decorations down and put away on New Year’s Day. Got everything taken down at church Saturday.
Debbie said Tommy was finally off of work Sunday and they went to church together. She said the kids did a wonderful job of singing and saying their lines for a belated Christmas program. They then went to visit daughter Kimberly and Jason Beavers and then got something to eat before returning home.
Sheryn Goode said her daughter, Dana, came down Saturday and hooked up Alexa, one of the gifts she got Sheryn for Christmas. Sheryn said she has really enjoyed it. She went to Memphis for Christmas but said because half of everybody there had the flu or whatever is going around, she came on back home. I don’t blame you there. Sheryn.
Martha Box said she has been tied down with a foot up. She was preparing for surgery Tuesday. Martha said she has been trying to practice getting up on her one good foot but said “it ain't easy to get up without putting pressure on that foot!” While she does have some equipment in the house to assist, Martha said learning how to use it may require her Superwoman power to return! Martha’s brother, Jesse brought in a lift recliner that they hope will help. After surgery, she said she is sure she will be wearing out Jesse, Joyce and Rissa. “All these kids just showed up to feed me and visit,” she said. Martha, l pray you have little pain and a fast healing with your surgery.
Son Derek, Jane Claire and Brewer Deck from Cleveland stopped by for a short visit one night last week.
Daughter Donna came Sunday to take down the tree and other decorations. Of course, she did other chores for us. Looks like I may have to put her on a salary.

Thought for the day: “When my kids become wild and unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they’re finished, I climb out.”
