Deborah McCool said the anniversary is over and they are starting on another year. They cooked on the grill Saturday evening, when daughter Kimberly, Jason and Caitlyn came and ate with them. “It was good,” Deborah said. “I cooked shrimp with bell peppers, onions, squash and tomatoes. We also had chicken, smoked sausage and hamburgers, fries and fried okra with corn nuggets.” She said it was so much, they had leftovers Sunday after church, and then they worked around the yard.
Martha Box said, ”I hear no real news is good news.” She had to skip her planned trip to Texas and missed out on her nephew Ronnie Junior’s wedding. “Dadgum it!” she said. “But, hey, he is married now to a sweet beautiful wife.” Martha did get to hang out at the Jubilee, and she said the music was spectacular — especially The War Horse band! She got to hang out with Diane Hill as they cheered them on.
Martha enjoyed a beautiful ride to Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday and heard a great, touching message from Bro. Truman Scarborough about the Worth of God’s Word. Just after, Josh Harrison sang “Why Me Lord?” “The song and message stirred a deep search in our souls,” Martha noted. Martha said granddaughters Marissa Jackson and Addie came by after church and she sure loved those hugs.
Sadie Harper’s son, Ed Harper, has moved back from Indianapolis, and he went to work Monday morning in Booneville. We are so happy he is back home.
Ginger Harrison said they had an awesome time at the Grenada Jubilee listening to The War Horse band. “They did a great job and everyone had a good time,” said Ginger. She also enjoyed Josh playing in church Sunday, adding, “It’s been a great busy weekend.”
Your writer’s daughter, Donna, came Sunday and ate homemade soup with us, and a new dessert, “Cherry Fluff” that I made. After eating lunch and vacuuming and sweeping my floors, she went to Charleston and picked up some photo albums from her cousin, Pam Trusty, to make copies of some of the pictures.
Freda Weir had gallbladder surgery last week and came home the same day. Freda is doing good and Frank is taking good care of her.
