Kristie Hartley has been busy decorating business store windows with her whimsical art. Every time I look at what she has already painted, it makes me want to get up out of this chair and decorate for Christmas. Keep up the good work, Kristie.
Deborah McCool said Thursday night after work, Hannah Beavers and Dallas Boyett invited them down to their house for a fish fry. Dallas did all the cooking except Hannah fixed some seasoned baked potatoes on the grill. Dallas is a good fish cooker. Kimberly, Jason and Caitlyn Beavers were there and Dallas’ parents and brother, Michelle, Daniel and Denver Boyett.
Martha Box told me, “No real exciting news except we are still here and still loved by Jesus!” She did go to the lake exercising a few times and enjoyed a great lunch at the Corner a couple of times.
Martha Box said she and her sister Joyce went shopping in the new mall at Batesville. They went in two stores and spent nothing in the first and $15 in the second. “Now, I call that shopping!” said Martha. After the shopping trip, brother Jesse Wortham, niece Renae and that rambunctious 1½-year-old cutie pie grand of hers met them for lunch.
On Sunday, Martha Box had a great day with a “beautiful, colorful, wonderful” drive to church at Pine Grove Baptist. “And what a special loving meeting it was,” she explained. “The choir sang so well we felt the spirit flow, especially when Mark Ellis sang a cappella!”
Martha ran into Addie and Cooper and friends during lunch at the Tillatoba Truck Stop. “So great to have them ask me to make them some tomato gravy and biscuits soon. I said yes, when you guys come and decorate for Christmas and put up the Christmas tree,” Martha said. She is still meeting for coffee at the Truck Stop at 3 p.m. each weekday. She said “Come have a cup with us.” Linda and Harvy Darby, Kenny Parker, Ricky Dunn, Jerry Walton and several others meet there occasionally.
Milton Harper fell in their bathroom and went to the ER. Everything checked out OK, with no broken bones and just bruised a bit.

Visiting with your writer and David Sunday afternoon was granddaughter Francesca Holliday. Frankie swept the floors, cut my hair and we watched a ballgame! We always love spending time with Frankie.
Jacque and Adam Chambers got a lot of useful gifts at their wedding shower this past weekend. A lot of food was prepared by a lot of their friends and family.

Recipe for the week:
Francesca “Holliday’s” chocolate truffles
One 8-ounce package cream cheese (room temperature)
One package of Oreo cookies crushed. Works great in a food processor.
16-ounce package of semisweet chocolate morsels
Combine cream cheese and crushed Oreos and put in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Take out of the refrigerator and roll into small balls and put on waxed paper, then put them back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Melt semisweet chocolate morsels in a microwave, and with a slotted spoon dip the balls in chocolate and put back on waxed paper, then put back in the refrigerator until cool.
Thought for the day: Once, a wise man said ... nothing at all.
