A Tallahatchie County grand jury for the 1st Judicial District last month indicted four local males on a charge of shooting into a dwelling, according to records on file Tuesday at the circuit clerk’s office in Charleston.
The four, three of whom were 15 years old when they allegedly shot into a house on Nov. 29, 2021, were named in identical two-count indictments charging conspiracy and shooting into an occupied dwelling.
That quartet are:
» Mystikal Kuykendall, 20, of 107 W. Holly St., Charleston
» DeAndre Price, 16, of 109 N. Church St., Charleston
» Jakevious Prince, 16, of 647 W. Main St., Charleston
» Terek Roberts, 15, of 806 W. Walnut St., Charleston
The cases of Prince and Roberts are set for trial Oct. 3 before Circuit Judge Smith Murphey, court records show.
In other grand jury cases:
» The aforementioned DeAndre Price, Jakevious Prince and Terek Roberts were named in identical two-count indictments charging conspiracy and burglary of a dwelling house in an additional case dating to Nov. 21, 2021.
Also indicted in that case was Lytansil Jenkins, 19, of 1257 Nell St., Charleston, but he faces three charges: conspiracy, burglary of a dwelling and possession of a stolen firearm (a 9 mm pistol).
» Willie Lee Bynum, 29, and Marlita Chaquita Walls, 35, both of 104 Autumn Ave., Batesville, were named in identical two-count indictments charging possession of marijuana with intent (more than 30 grams but less than 1 kilo) and trafficking of THC, 30 grams or more.
THC is the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana users a high. The charges are in connection with an alleged Oct. 21, 2020, violation.
Bynum and Walls face a July 27 hearing at the Tallahatchie County Courthouse in Charleston.
» Kelvin Davis, 47, of 144 Mitchell Lane, Charleston, is named in a two-count indictment charging him with aggravated domestic assault and strong arm robbery in a Jan. 30, 2022, incident in which he allegedly strangled and took cash from the purse of a woman with whom he has a current or former dating relationship.
» Glenn Montez Williams, 18, of 143 Sawmill St., Charleston, was indicted on a charge of burglary of a dwelling in connection with a June 8, 2022, break-in at a local residence. Williams’ case is set for an Oct. 3 trial date before Murphey.
» Marty Dale King, 53, of Oakland, was indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for a May 27, 2022, episode in which he allegedly possessed a .22-caliber rifle. He was previously convicted of felony possession of meth.
» Allen Heath Griffin, 42, of 2404 Bonner Road, Enid, was indicted on a charge of grand larceny with a value of $1,000 to $5,000, for allegedly stealing a rifle and shotgun on Oct. 15, 2021.
One other criminal indictment was handed down, but it is not available for public viewing because it has not been served on the individual who was indicted.
