The local American Cancer Society chapter’s “Rally for a Cure” fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 15, at the former National Guard armory on South Cossar in Charleston.
The event will get underway at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude about 2 p.m.
The decades-long running Rally, interrupted only by COVID, will offer many familiar ingredients, according to local ACS board president Brenda Walton-Willis.
She said there will be the traditional silent auction, a sweet shop booth featuring home-baked delicacies from local kitchens, booths offering cancer education materials, cake walks, door prizes and live entertainment.

“Special guest singer will be none other than our very own Mrs. Glenda Woods from Shaw,” said Walton-Willis.
A luminary table will be set up to allow the purchase of luminaries in memory and in honor of loved ones who have fought cancer.
Balloons will be sold for the noontime balloon release.
Rally T-shirts will be available to purchase for $20.
In addition, donations are always accepted by mail to Rally for a Cure, P.O. Box 971, Charleston, MS 38921.
