A Charleston man was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash south of Charleston.
Sgt. Marvin N. Baird of the Mississippi Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Derrick Pryor, 36, of 235 Byars Road, Charleston, who received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Baird said the 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Pryor was traveling south on Highway 35 when it collided with a 2014 Volvo scrap metal transport truck driven by 73-year-old Kenneth D. Franklin of Cascilla. The Volvo was entering Highway 35 in the Paynes community when the crash occurred shortly before 7 a.m., Baird noted.
Baird said the crash remains under investigation by MHP.
