Democratic nominations for four local offices in Tallahatchie County will be decided during today's Aug. 29 Democratic Primary runoff election.
The polls opened at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m. Any voter in line at 7 p.m. is legally entitled to cast a ballot.
The following races will appear on ballots at all 21 Tallahatchie County precincts:

The following two supervisor runoffs will be decided by voters in those respective areas:

As of Monday, Aug. 28, the Statewide Election Management System (SEMS) reported a total of 12,897 absentee ballots requested, 12,604 absentee ballots sent and 10,415 absentee ballots received in the state of Mississippi for the 2023 Primary Runoff Election, the Mississippi secretary of state's office noted in a press release.
The requested total reflects the number of Mississippi voters who have requested an absentee ballot through their local circuit clerk's office. The sent total reflects the number of absentee ballots sent to voters from circuit clerk offices. The received total reflects the number of completed absentee ballots returned to circuit clerk offices.
In Tallahatchie County, as of Aug. 28, a total of 312 absentee ballots had been requested, 312 had been sent and 282 had been received.
All mail-in absentee ballots had to be postmarked by election day (Aug. 29) and received within five business days of election day in order to count.
