By close of day on Monday, July 10, anyone in Mississippi who wants to vote in the Aug. 8 primary election must be registered to vote.
To help facilitate the process, circuit clerk offices throughout the state must be open Saturday, July 8, from 8 a.m. until noon for just that purpose.
Tallahatchie County Circuit Clerk Daphane Neal said her offices in Charleston and Sumner will be open Saturday morning for voter registration.
New voters can register in person at the circuit clerk’s office or municipal clerk’s office, or by mail-in registration application filed at least 30 days prior to the date of the election. For more information, visit the voter registration information page on the secretary of state's website.
Any registered voters in Tallahatchie County who have recently moved — that is, changed their physical address — are asked to stop by the circuit clerk offices and update their registration information, Neal said.
