Tree limbs and branches littered yards, roads and streets throughout the area early Wednesday after the remnants of a storm system blew through just before midnight.
High wind gusts wreaked havoc, uprooting some trees and inflicting some other property damage.
There was at least one report of a tree falling onto a house in western Tallahatchie County. No injuries were reported.
Electrical service was disrupted in numerous locations.
As of 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, Entergy's outage map indicated about 100 customers in Charleston had no electrical service.
At about the same time, Tallahatchie Valley Electric Power Association's outage map showed that more than 900 customers in or adjacent to Tallahatchie County were still without power.
