56th Annual Natchez Trace Festival this weekend

The 56th annual Natchez Trace Festival will return to historic downtown Kosciusko on April 24-25, bringing a weekend of arts, crafts, food and entertainment to the community.
Held each year on the last Friday and Saturday of April, the festival draws dozens of artisans and craftsmen from across the southeastern United States, including many from Mississippi. Organizers say the event celebrates the area’s heritage while offering activities for all ages.

The Kosciusko Rotary Club recognized a year of growth and service while hosting author Rhonda DiBiase as its featured speaker during a recent meeting, highlighting both the club’s achievements and a message of faith shaped through personal loss during its April 13 meeting.s
DiBiase, a Mississippi native and member of Rotary International, spoke to the club about her newly published memoir, “Fear Finds Faith,” which chronicles her experience navigating her mother’s prolonged illness and death and the spiritual questions that followed.

The event, founded by Kosciusko Alderman Henry Daniel, welcomed children ages 3 to 10, along with their parents and guardians, for an afternoon of community fellowship and activities.

Lady Whippets look ahead to rematches, playoff push After Tough Week

It was a tough week for Kosciusko softball, allowing 26 runs in 12 innings in losses to Neshoba Central 12-1 and Lake 14-10 in eight innings.
The Lake loss was especially painful because the Lady Whippets rallied with five in the bottom of the seventh for a 9-9 tie, forcing extra innings. But in the top of the eighth three Kosciusko errors resulted in five runs.

McAdams sweeps Region 5-1A Track Titles Behind Spivey’s Standout Performance

McAdams dominated the Region 5-1A track meet with championships by boys and girls teams.
Led by senior Jamarques Spivey, the Bulldogs finished with 140 points, followed by Leake County 103, Noxapater 68, Ethel 64, Sebastopol 56 and Nanih Waiya 45. For the girls it was McAdams 130, Ethel 92, Noxapater 83, Sebastopol 51, Leake County 49 and Nanih Waiya 22.

Anna Lauren Watts was crowned Miss Natchez Trace Festival 2026, earning the title after a strong showing among a group of contestants praised for their charm and stage presence.
