Registration opens for Miss Natchez Trace Festival Pageant

The Kosciusko Attala Partnership-Chamber of Commerce has announced that registration is now open for the annual Miss Natchez Trace Festival Pageant, with the event scheduled for April 10.
Organizers said registration will remain open through April 2 and encouraged participants of all ages to enter.

The Kosciusko Foundation of Excellence in Education recently sponsored an art contest in the Kosciusko School District. Students from Pre-K through twelfth grade participated, with prizes awarded in two categories to the top three winners at each school. The KFEE is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to enhance public education in Kosciusko.

Crash claims life of Attala County man

A fatal crash was reported early Sunday morning on Attala Road 3122.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 6:25 a.m. on March 29, where one individual was reportedly trapped inside a vehicle that caught fire and ultimately exploded.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Brandon Sheedy of Attala County. He was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. A full obituary is on page 2 of this edition.

Authorities have confirmed that a stabbing incident on Lucas Street on March 30 has resulted in the death of a 16-year-old Kosciusko resident.
Authorities confirmed Nina Dillon was pronounced dead at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala following the incident.
According to Authorities, Dillon was stabbed during an altercation involving 15-year-old Ta’khia Fletcher, also of Kosciusko.
