OAKLAND — Patsy Burt Williams, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 6.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10, at Oakland Cemetery in Oakland with Wells Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Burt Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; her daughter, Cindy Williams Walker of Memphis; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with interment following at Forrest Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. Eugene Howell.

CASCILLA — Tom Henry Kendall, age 86, of Cascilla, peacefully passed away Friday, January 9, surrounded by family who loved him deeply.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, at North Shady Grove Church of God with Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Mark Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the North Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will received friends from 5–7 p.m. Sunday evening and one hour prior to the service Monday, all at the church.

Employees of the Leflore County Juvenile Detention Center walked off the job Friday after not receiving any pay since Nov. 7, shutting down the facility.
